Rocking the iconic Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips and ‘Makeup Your Destiny!’ mantra, Lola Lovinfosse’s 2024 helmet design has the F1 ACADEMY Official Partner written all over it.
Delving behind the visor to reveal the person underneath, the French racer talks us through her attention to detail when trying to coordinate her trademark pink with Charlotte Tilbury’s signature night crimson and rose gold colour scheme, her pride at racing for the renowned beauty brand and how her helmet has evolved from its Lando Norris-inspired origins.
“It’s a full Charlotte Tilbury helmet, still with the double L on both sides for my first name and surname. For the colours, I chose the brown-purple to match with the car and I always want to keep a black and white base with some glitter.
“Of course, it has the pink fluro that I really like, I’ve always had my helmet with it. It’s the first time that I’ve had the inside not grey or black, it’s pink and I think it makes it even more girly and looks like Charlotte Tilbury (colours), I really like it.
“On the top, you have the big CT for Charlotte Tilbury and I’ve always had a logo on top of my old helmets for a sponsor. Behind, you have the big mouth with a lipstick and the same on the front. It’s at the same place where my mouth is in the helmet, it’s a cool design.
“My helmet has changed a lot because my first painted helmet was the same design as Lando Norris’ but in pink. It was my dad that chose (the design), my brother had the same as him in yellow and mine was in pink. Now I’m the one deciding what I want on it, so I think it’s pretty cool and the colours match quite well together.

“(Racing for Charlotte Tilbury), it’s an amazing opportunity because you get to be a person that inspires young women. This is very special because if you would have told me this a few years before, I would not have believed it. I’m very proud to be a part of this project. It’s one of the first big collaborations between a makeup brand and motorsport, so it makes it even more special.
“Charlotte Tilbury herself is an inspiration for me as well because she’s achieved many things as a woman. She’s fighting and always supporting high-standard women in any category — in sports, in everyday life and I’m very happy that she trusted me.
“I really liked my helmet from last year with the fluro pink and some of the details, but (for my dream helmet) I would like to do something more. Not personal, but I would like to add some pictures of important moments in my life on the back and keep an aggressive design because this is still racing.

“The helmet needs to be something that represents you that also matches with the car. I pay a lot of attention to this. I want something that when people see me with my helmet and I take it off, they’re like ‘oh I was imagining this type of person’.
“Bell Racing make my helmets, they’re really, really good. We have a service at the track with them, so they take care of everything and they did a very good job in a very short time.”
