Alpine's Abbi Pulling saved her best to last to go quickest of all during Friday's second Free Practice session. The Rodin Motorsport driver came out on top inside the final minute of running with a stellar 1:36.367 lap time.

Home hero Maya Weug got closest to Pulling, finishing a tenth back in second ahead of Red Bull Racing's Hamda Al Qubaisi and Jessica Edgar for American Express.

After a wet and windy end to FP1, the drivers found the Circuit Zandvoort dry once more. Haas' Chloe Chambers led the field out ahead of her Campos Racing teammates Nerea Martí and Carrie Schreiner, setting a 1:43.037.

That time was shortly beaten by Block, before Pin posted the first 1:37s lap of the day. Weug and Hamda Al Qubaisi moved into P1 in turn, but it wasn't long until Pulling took over the top spot by 0.045s on a 1:37.546.

A Red Flag brought running to a halt with 21 minutes to go as Bianca Bustamante, suffering with oversteer, couldn't downshift into Turn 8 and she spun off into the gravel trap where she was left stranded.

All the drivers were pushing hard once they headed back out with 16 minutes remaining. Pulling initially strengthened her hold on the fastest time with a 1:37.405 before Chambers then deposed the Alpine driver, but the American would soon lose the P1 spot to Martí after she banked a 1:37.048.

The benchmark was lowered further as the field had time left to find. Edgar, Pin, Martí and Weug all took turns leading the way, before Weug broke three tenths clear, laying down a 1:36.470.

With one minute left before the chequered flag, Pulling posted two consecutive personal bests. Initially edging 0.051s ahead of Weug, the Briton's last-gasp 1:36.367 earned her second Practice-topping time of the day.

Weug finished second, three tenths ahead of Hamda Al Qubaisi and Jessica Edgar, who posted identical times on a 1:36.706. Martí was fifth, with Pin, Emely De Heus, Tina Hausmann, Amna Al Qubaisi and Aurelia Nobels rounding out the top 10.

With both Free Practices in the books, preparations now turn to Saturday morning's Qualifying. The 30-minute session is set to start at 10:15 local time.
