Ella Lloyd

Swapping one kind of horsepower for another, Ella Lloyd carved out her own distinct path to the 2025 F1 ACADEMY grid.

With the mantra ‘Be different. Be unique. Be yourself’, the now 19-year-old went from being a decorated showjumper and Gold medal winner at the Welsh Skiing Championship to scoring points in 15 of the 25 races on her car racing debut in the 2022 Ginetta Junior Championship.

Despite never karting competitively, Lloyd quickly progressed. Delivering instant success in the Ginetta GT Championship, she achieved 10 victories, 10 pole positions and a further seven podiums on her way to becoming Vice Champion in the Pro Class.

Getting behind the wheel in single-seaters for the 2024 season, the Welsh racer earned four podiums in British F4 on her way to finish 11th in the Standings. Making her F1 ACADEMY debut as the Wild Card in Singapore, Lloyd brought home two points-scoring finishes in P9 and P7 on her first visit to the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Inducted into the McLaren Driver Development Programme for the 2025 season, Lloyd also participated in Formula E’s first-ever Women’s Test. With the Welsh dragon emblazoned on her helmet, it’s time for Lloyd to roar in the Rodin Motorsport-operated car.
