Terms and Conditions to the F1 ACADEMY™ Montreal Race Poster Design Competition (the “Competition”)

We are F1 Academy Limited of No. 2 St James’s Market, London, SW1Y 4AH (“we”, “us”, “our”, and “Promoter”). We and our group companies own the exclusive right to commercialise F1® Academy in all media. We are the promoter of the Competition.

You”, “your”, and the “participant” means the individual entering the Competition.

By entering the Competition, you accept and agree to comply with these Competition rules (the “Rules”).
For the avoidance of doubt, the terms of use and privacy policy of f1academy.com shall apply to your use of f1academy.com.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS REQUIRED TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

1. WHO CAN ENTER THE COMPETITION

1.1 Subject to Paragraph 5.1 below, this Competition is only open to entrants who:

a) are aged 16 and above. Any individuals aged under 18 or who are under the age of majority for the country of which they are a citizen and/or reside, must obtain the permission of their parent or legal guardian before entering the Competition and by entering the Competition the parent or legal guardian agrees to these Rules on behalf of the entrant;

b) have access to the internet and f1academy.com, and a valid email address; and

c) are residents of the UK, EU, or USA and other territories where its operation and the Prize(s) are permitted (where operation of this Competition is not permitted by applicable law or regulation, this Competition shall not be operated and residents of such jurisdictions are not permitted to enter).

1.2 The Competition is not open to:

a) employees, contractors or agents of the Promoter, their group companies or family members, freelance contributors, anyone else connected to the Competition and their family members; or

b) public officials (as defined by applicable laws, statutes and regulations relating to bribery and corruption, including but not limited to the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 and the UK Bribery Act 2010) and anyone connected to them; or

c) residents of any countries subject to USA, UK or EU sanctions, including for example residents of Russia and Belarus.

1.3 In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so in accordance with Paragraphs 1.1 and 1.2. We may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition.

2. HOW TO ENTER

2.1 The Competition will run from 17:00 UTC 24 April 2025 (the "Opening Datetext in italic") to 19:00 UTC 19 May 2025 (the "Closing Datetext in italic") inclusive. Entries received outside this time period are void and will not be considered.

2.2 In order to enter the Competition you must, prior to the Closing Date:

a) visit the Competition website page at https://www.f1academy.com/latest/6h51oZEPo8CCdduRbGroHz/calling-all-creatives-design-the-official-f1-academy-montreal-race-poster;

b) submit the following details via the Competition form on the Competition website page: (i) your email address; (ii) your full name; (iii) your country of residence; and (iv) age;

c) Download the digital race poster template;

d) Design a race poster using the digital race poster template (“Poster Design”); and

e) Submit your Poster Design via email as a 300 DPI PDF file to competitions@f1academy.com.

2.3 Once your entry to the Competition is submitted to us, it will become our property on receipt and will not be returned. By submitting your entry, you agree to:

a) assign absolutely to us all your intellectual property rights held in your entry (including for the avoidance of doubt in your Poster Design) with full title guarantee; and

b) waive absolutely all moral rights, in and to and otherwise arising in connection with your entry (including for the avoidance of doubt in and to your Poster Design) to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

2.4. You confirm that all information supplied (including personal details) by you in your entry to the Competition otherwise provided is truthful, accurate, complete and in no way misleading. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify you if you have supplied untruthful, inaccurate, misleading or incomplete personal details and/or information in your entry. The entry must not (a) be incomplete or illegible; (b) infringe the intellectual property or other rights of a third party; or (c) be unlawful, defamatory, abusive, insulting, threatening, obscene, inflammatory, offensive or otherwise contain content that the Promoter determines (in its sole discretion) inappropriate or objectionable.

2.5 The Finalists (defined below) and the winner of the Competition will be contacted via email. You must provide a valid email address at the time of entering the Competition. Any entry received without a valid email address will be void and you will not be eligible to win any Prize. All personal data provided by you when entering the Competition will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy as per Paragraph 5.2.

2.6 No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition and purchase of any item does not enhance your chance of winning.

2.8 Only one (1) entry per person and per email address is permitted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. The winner shall be the named respondent on the selected winning entry. Any attempt to enter more than one (1) time by use of multiple names, email accounts, or any other means is grounds for disqualification.

2.9 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of submission or delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.

3. HOW THE WINNER IS SELECTED

3.1 There shall be five (5) Finalists (defined below) and one (1) winner, selected in accordance with this Paragraph 3. The winner shall receive the Prize (defined in Paragraph 4 below).

3.2 The Competition entries submitted in accordance with Paragraph 2.2 (being “Round One”) will be judged by a panel of three (3) of our judges based on the weighted judging criteria set out in Clause 3.3 (the “Judging Criteria”), and the Finalists (defined below) (being “Round Two”) will be judged by a minimum of twelve (12) and a maximum of eighteen (18) F1 Academy drivers based on the Judging Criteria. If you would like to request the details of the judges, please email us within one (1) month of the Closing Date.

3.3 The Judging Criteria is as follows:
a) Creativity (40%),
b) Uniqueness (30%), and c) Relevance to F1® Academy and Canada (30%).

3.4 The judges will judge the Competition entries submitted as part of Round One using the Judging Criteria to select a shortlist of five (5) entries to proceed to Round Two of the Competition (the “Finalists”). The Finalists will be selected by the judges no later than 12th June 2025. The Finalists will be notified that they have been selected by email (to the email address connected to their entry) no later than 12th June 2025.

3.5 The winner will be chosen from the Finalists participating in Round Two by the F1 Academy drivers based on the Judging Criteria, on 12th June 2025. The winner will be notified that they have won by email (to the email address connected to their entry) on 12th June 2025 and provided further details as to how they will be able to claim their Prize.

3.6 The decisions of the judges regarding any aspect of the Competition are final and binding and no correspondence will be entered in to regarding it.

3.7 Proof that a valid winner was awarded, or that no qualifying entries were received, can be obtained after the date of the Competition by sending an enquiry to competitions@f1academy.com.

4. THE PRIZE

4.1 Provided that the winner complies with these Rules, they will be entitled to the one (1) prize available, comprising the following (collectively, the “Prize”):

a) The winner will receive one (1) printed copy of their winning Poster Design signed by each F1 Academy driver who is participating in the F1 Academy event taking place at FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2025 (postage will be included as part of Prize); and

b) The winning Poster Design will be posted on F1 Academy’s official website and Instagram page and will be printed and displayed at the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2025 in such locations as the Promoter determines.

4.2 The Prize listed in Paragraph 4.1 above consists of the Prize only and does not include any associated costs or expenses not specifically listed. Any costs incurred that are incidental to the fulfilment of the Prize are the responsibility of the winner. We accept no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize that are not expressly included in Paragraph 4.1 above.

4.3 The winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes, including customs duty, levies and/or other import fees to which any Prize may be subject, and any taxes imposed on their income.

4.4 The approximate retail value for the Prize is as follows: GBP £50.

4.5 The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash or any other prize. Any difference between actual value and a variable value noted above will not be awarded.

4.6 We reserve the right to substitute the Prize (or any part of the Prize) with an alternative of similar value in the event that the original Prize offered is not available. No responsibility is assumed for cancellation or postponement of FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2025 or any other Prize-related activities due to causes beyond our control. In the event of any such cancellation or postponement the remaining portion(s) of the Prize will be awarded as the complete award to the winner.

4.7 The Prize as set out above and awarded to the winner shall not be used or dealt with in any way that is incompatible with any applicable laws, statutes and regulations relating to bribery and corruption, including but not limited to the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act 1977 and the UK Bribery Act 2010, and the winner hereby acknowledges and agrees that no Prize issued pursuant to these Rules may be sold or offered for sale or other form of reward or incentive to any third party.

5. PUBLICITY AND YOUR DATA

5.1 By entering this Competition, you consent to the use by us and our related companies, both before and after the Closing Date of the Competition for an unlimited time, of your name and entry information and, if you are the winner, you further consent to the use of your voice, still and moving images, for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by the Promoter and its related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice. Residents of Tennessee or any other USA state or other jurisdiction in which it is unlawful to require agreement to a publicity release as a condition of winning a Prize shall not be bound by this Paragraph 5.1 to the extent it is lawful.

5.2 We will use and take care of any personal information you supply in entering this Competition as described in our privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen at https://www.f1academy.com/About/Privacy-Notice, and any other privacy policies we may provide to you from time to time. The information supplied by you in the associated entry form will be used as described on the entry form.

6. MISCELLANEOUS

6.1 Where you have consented to receive marketing communications from any person other than us, your details may be passed to such person(s) and organisation(s) that you have consented to receiving marketing communications from.

6.2 To the extent allowed by applicable law, we accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition or accepting the Prize. We further disclaim any liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition save to the extent that such liability results from (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any other reason or by any cause which cannot be excluded by law.

6.3 We reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify, discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside our reasonable control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud); provided that in such circumstances, we will endeavour, to the extent reasonably possible, to award the Prize in a fair and equitable manner among any entries received not affected by the problem.

6.4 To the extent allowed by applicable law, we will not be liable for any failure to comply with our obligations relating to this Competition where the failure is caused by something outside our reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, epidemic, pandemic, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

6.5 The Competition and these Rules will be governed by English law and participants in the Competition submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts. However, you may have statutory or legal rights in the territory where you live which could apply to your entry in the Competition.
