Mercedes driver Doriane Pin will be embarking on her next step up the single seater ladder, joining the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine grid as part of Iron Dames’ inaugural entry into the category.
In the Championship’s first-ever all female line-up, the French racer will be competing alongside the reigning F1 ACADEMY Champion Marta García, who secured seven victories on her way to securing the title last season.
Delivering two pole positions and a victory in the opening F1 ACADEMY weekend in Jeddah, 20-year-old Pin will have plenty of opportunities to keep her racing skills sharp. She’ll be combining her debut campaign in the all-female series with the 10-round FRECA season alongside appearances in the FIA World Endurance Championship, including racing for Iron Dames in the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours.
Speaking on the announcement, Pin said: “I feel grateful for this opportunity to participate in such a championship. I’m fully committed to this new challenge and can’t wait to be on track and make the most of it. It’s fantastic to take another important step in single-seater racing together with Iron Dames and Mercedes. Together with Marta, we aim to inspire young girls around the world to pursue their dreams fearlessly and embrace opportunities in racing.”
“I’m really happy to join the new Iron Dames FRECA programme and I cannot wait for the season to start,” García elated. “I’m determined to work as hard as possible to make this project succeed, and by doing so, to really prove our potential. I also look forward to working with Doriane. I think we are a well-sorted combination and that we will work positively together to make the team and ourselves progress, learn and achieve. I want to thank Iron Dames for this opportunity, let’s make the most of it!”
