Now, the Mercedes driver prepares to embark on the final two rounds of her debut F1 ACADEMY campaign. Sitting second in the Standings with a 95-point deficit to long-time leader Abbi Pulling, Pin knows that the title is an outside shot, but however slim her chances are, she’s going to be fighting to the finish.

In the morning, the honours went to Abbi Pulling, whose 1:56.769 narrowly edged her ahead of Pin by 0.054s with Hamda Al Qubaisi a further tenth behind in third.
The margins were even tighter in the afternoon with 0.049s separating the top three of Pin, Hamda Al Qubaisi and Pulling.

In the quicker of the two sessions around the Lusail International Circuit, the Mercedes driver was the one to beat, eventually setting a 1:57.177 to finish four tenths ahead of Abbi Pulling.
However, it was her title rival who led the afternoon running, as the Alpine driver’s 1:57.183 narrowly edged out Maya Weug and Pin by four hundredths.

A solid P5 result in the morning was followed up by a rapid final hour of running in the afternoon, with the Mercedes driver steadily finding more and more pace to secure the fastest time of Day 1.
