Our F1 ACADEMY DISCOVER YOUR DRIVE supported karters were back in action over the weekend for Round 5 of the 2024 Champions of the Future Academy Programme in the United Arab Emirates.
Tasting success and showing unwavering determination around the Al Ain Raceway, Luna Fluxa Cross continued her battle for the title whilst Sara Matsui also showed her speed in the OK-N Senior category.

In the morning, the honours went to Abbi Pulling, whose 1:56.769 narrowly edged her ahead of Pin by 0.054s with Hamda Al Qubaisi a further tenth behind in third.
The margins were even tighter in the afternoon with 0.049s separating the top three of Pin, Hamda Al Qubaisi and Pulling.

However, it was her title rival who led the afternoon running, as the Alpine driver’s 1:57.183 narrowly edged out Maya Weug and Pin by four hundredths.

In the quicker of the two sessions, the Alpine driver recorded a 1:56.526 in the morning, putting her two tenths clear of Doriane Pin and Hamda Al Qubaisi. Her form was maintained into the afternoon, clocking in a 1:56.778 to conclude running at the Yas Marina Circuit.

On her first visit to the Yas Marina Circuit, the Alpine driver secured the quickest effort of the morning and continued that form into the afternoon. Posting the fastest lap of the day late thanks to a time of 1:56.505, she led Mercedes’ Doriane Pin by 0.370s.

For the first time in 2024, two different drivers will line up on pole for each race, as the Mercedes driver’s second-fastest effort narrowly put her on top for Race 2 by 0.011s ahead of Pulling.
