She might be the youngest driver on the 2025 F1 ACADEMY grid, but 16-year-old Joanne Ciconte about to make her dreams come true when she races in front of the Grand Prix crowds.
Ciconte’s come a long way from where her racing story first began, both literally and figuratively. Competing in regional and national competitions back home in Australia, she achieved the 2023 Australian Karting Championship Pink Plate win before going on to be selected as one of the four senior category finalists for that year’s FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme.
Her transition to single-seaters in 2024 heralded a move to the European scene. After scoring points on debut in Australian F4, Ciconte furthered her understanding of the new machinery with appearances in the Central European Zone F4 Championship, Spanish F4 and Formula Winter Series.
She’ll be taking to the track for the Shanghai season opener in the #25 F1 ACADEMY-liveried car operated by MP Motorsport.
